The Performance as a whole was closer to a 2. What brought it up was the interpretation of the first act which was shiny, very whimsical and fresh. We see the Nutcracker yearly for moms birthday and go to different venues to see it. Since we became supporters of the Peabody this year of course we went there. Sadly the dream sequence which is suppose to be the highlight of the performance was pretty flat. The principles in the dream sequence were weak. Thankfully there were the youngsters to add a needed spark. You may wonder why I would recommend a friend to go. The value for the buck... Its live theater. They might enjoy everything about it and if I told them not to go I would keep them from drawing their own conclusions
